Sustainable Furnishings Council sets High Point Market events

The Sustainable Furnishings Council announced its slate of events for the April 18-23 High Point Market.

 

On Monday, April 20, the SFC will host a Sustainable Style progressive breakfast tour that begins at 8:30 a.m. at the High Point Theatre (at the Transportation Terminal). A 20-minute presentation will arm guests with information needed to make sustainable choices for clientele, the organization said.

 

From there, the council will lead a tour through member showrooms in the International Home Furnishings Center and Interhall, dining on a progressive breakfast along the way. Showrooms Ekornes Stressless, Nourison, G. Romano, Simply Amish, Greenington, Gat Creek, Selamat and Wish Designs USA.

 

SFC Executive Director Susan Inglis will present Showing Green: 10 Questions Every Salesperson Needs to Answer at the North American Home Furnishings Assn.’s Retailer Resource Center at 2:30 p.m. on April 21. The Retailer Resource Center is located on the first floor of Plaza Suites.

 

On April 22, the SFC will offer Greenleaders certification. The six-hour sustainability training exam is the most comprehensive green furnishings program available and provides designers and other specifiers knowledge and credentials to differentiate themselves as experts in sustainability, officials said. It will begin at 9 a.m. in the Market Square Seminar Room. The cost is $150 before Feb. 27. After that, the price jumps to $299.
