The winter 2016 Las Vegas Market has been pushed back a week according to its operator, International Market Centers.

Originally slated for Jan. 17-21 of next year, the winter market will take place in the World Market Center Jan. 24-28 to allow for more space between other markets and to accommodate buyers, manufacturers and designers.

In previous years, the Las Vegas Market had held its winter market the last week in January, until it shifted to an earlier date for the 2015 show to align with Design & Construction Week, bringing together five design and construction industry trade shows in Las Vegas.

“Although the coordination in timing with Design & Construction Week for winter 2015 brought increased attendance from the interior design community, we feel we must mitigate the overlap among January markets as much as possible by adjusting our dates to better serve the needs of our customers, who are our primary focus,” said Bob Maricich, CEO of International Market Centers. “After we announced our January 2016 dates last year, other markets in our industry shifted their dates, creating a conflict with our date pattern, which this change is designed to circumvent.”

The change also avoids an overlap with Martin Luther King Day, which next year will be Jan. 18.

Dates are unchanged for this summer’s Las Vegas Market, which will run Aug. 2-6.
