Ikea Canada has launched a free Wi-Fi service at its stores, beginning in Toronto before spreading out across the country.
The global home furnishings giant said the service will make in-store shopping more convenient by providing customers with the ability to surf the mobile version of Ikea’s website or download the Ikea Canada shopping app. Customers will be able to use the Wi-Fi service to purchase from a mobile device while browsing in-store.
“We are continually striving to improve our customers’ shopping experience and to service them in a more sophisticated way,” said Hilary Lloyd, Ikea Canada’s vice president of marketing. “We know our customers are constantly connected and we are now making it more convenient for them to shop and navigate our stores using their mobile devices.”
Customers will also be able to download the digital version of the new Ikea catalog or the catalog app in the stores.
Wi-Fi has rolled out to the Ikea stores in the greater Toronto area this week and will launch in the rest of Canada over the next month. Ikea offers free Wi-Fi service globally in more than 220 stores.
