Case goods resource is launching a new domestically upholstered headboard and bed program this market that will feature 28 standard fabrics and 50 additional designer fabrics.
The program, called Nest Theory, includes seven bed silhouettes, all produced in the U.S. at Hooker’s Martinsville headquarters facility. The headboards will start at $698 retail and go up to $1,899 for a fully upholstered bed.
Those produced in the 28 standard fabrics will be available to ship within 30 days, while the 50 additional designer fabrics will ship in 45.
The company said it also is planning to offer quick ship services for those consumers that want their beds sooner.
“Over the past few years, fully upholstered headboards and beds have become the fastest growing category of bedroom furnishings across a broad range of price points,” said Frank Richardson, Hooker’s vice president of sales. “At the same time, we believe that the marketing of these products, as well as the need to create individuality and personality that inspires consumers, have been lacking. Nest Theory is designed to speak to the broadest range of needs within the premium upholstered bed category while simultaneously appealing to the emotive desires of the consumer.”
In addition to fabric offerings, the beds will be customized in terms of size, finish and trim options that appeal to “broad range of consumer tastes, desires and needs.” For example, there will be options for standard or contrasting welt detail and five nail head finishes, while headboards will be in heights of 52 or 62 inches. The headboard height selection also allows for two rail height options.
And if a consumer chooses a complete bed, they can choose from a block or tapered foot depending on the silhouette. There are also four finishes available for the feet, caramel, chestnut, espresso and chalk.
“Nest Theory is founded on the belief that a great night’s sleeps requires more than just a great mattress,” said Ray Harm, senior vice president-sales, for Hooker. “We believe that creating the right environment for that mattress is equally important. Nest Theory was designed to create the perfect environment for resting your body and your soul.”
