La-Z-Boy has received the Tennessee Commissioners Award of Excellence of Workplace Safety and Health for the sixth consecutive year for its Dayton manufacturing facility.
The Commissioners Award recognizes Tennessee employers and employees who meet a required number of hours without workplace injuries serious enough to cause an employee to miss a day of work. The number of hours is based on the size of the employer.
Additionally, the Dayton facility recently achieved 7 million production hours without experiencing an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable lost-time case.
The La-Z-Boy Dayton facility occupies more than 1.2 million square feet and employs about 1400 associates. Opened in 1973, it is one of the largest employers in the area and has been recognized as one of the 10 best plants in North American by IndustryWeek magazine.
