Design Shanghai 2014 concluded on Mar 2nd. More than 40,000 architects, interior designers and developers took part in the four-day event spreading over Contemporary, Classic and Collectible halls, with an overall area of 10,000 sqm in the newly-renovated, Russian-style Shanghai Exhibition Centre.

More than 150 well-known design brands presented, 90% of which had never been seen before in China. They brought chic furniture and interior brands from Europe to China, including Hay, Cole & Son, Boss Design and Fritz Hansen. Artists Qu Guangci, furniture designer John Makepeace and design consultant Roland Boal gave speeches on emerging trends of art and design industries. Design magazine Wallpaper held an exhibition of handicrafts. Design Republic brought Bocci, Bd Barcelona Design, Classicon, Interni Edition, Moooi and Tom Dixon to the show, and other brands included Magis, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Alessi, Boss Design and HAY.
