The cumulative growth rate of home textile exports has narrowed month by month.

From January to July this year, our country' s home textile exports have maintained rapid growth overall, but the export growth rate has declined month by month, from an increase of 73% in April to an increase of 9.2% in July.

The demand in the international home textile market is still strong, and exports of our home textile products to the world' s top 20 markets have maintained growth. The specific features are as follows:

The cumulative increase in exports has narrowed month by month

From January to July, our country' s textile product exports were US$18.44 billion, a year-on-year increase of 44.8%. The cumulative growth rate has slowed by 10 percentage points from the previous month, but it is still an increase of 19.8% over the same period in 2019.

At the same time, the export of home textile products accounted for 11% of the total export of textile and apparel products, which was 37 percentage points higher than the growth rate of the overall export of textile and apparel, effectively stimulating the recovery of the overall export growth of the industry.

Among them, the export of bedding products, curtains, towels, carpets, blankets and other categories maintained rapid growth, with an increase of more than 40%, and the export of kitchen supplies and table textiles increased by 25%-40%.

Looking at the overall situation, the company' s orders on hand are relatively full, but the profit margin has declined. Affected by the global COVID-19 epidemic, some orders from India and ASEAN have returned this year. The growth trend of China' s exports is expected to continue until the third quarter or the end of the year.

However, at the same time, affected by factors such as rising ocean freight, shortage of cotton, and rising prices of production factors, the profit margin of enterprises has declined significantly since the beginning of this year. Blindly expand production capacity. After the global epidemic has stabilized, it will still face the pressure of industrial transfer and outflow of orders.

Demand in the U.S. and European markets is strong, but slowing down in July

In the first 7 months, the export of home textile products to the world' s top 20 markets maintained growth.

Among them, the demand in the U.S. and European markets is relatively strong. The export of home textile products to the U.S. is 6.2 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 53.7%. Exports to the EU were US$2.47 billion, an increase of 35.4%. The cumulative growth rate has narrowed by 7 percentage points compared with the previous month, and has increased by 10.9% compared with the same period in 2019. The growth rate of exports to Japan was relatively slow. The export value was US$1.57 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%, and the scale was basically the same as in the same period in 2019.

From the perspective of regional markets, exports to Latin America, ASEAN and North America have grown rapidly, with year-on-year growth rates all exceeding 50%.

Exports are concentrated in the three provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong

Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai and Guangdong are ranked in the top five textile export provinces and cities in the country.

Exports have maintained a steady recovery in the first seven months, with export growth rates between 35% and 48%.

It is worth noting that the three provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong together accounted for 69.5% of the country' s total textile exports, an increase of nearly 5 percentage points year-on-year, and the export provinces and cities are becoming more concentrated.

In addition, the exports of eight provinces (cities) including Yunnan, Shanxi, Chongqing, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Tibet and Gansu have grown rapidly, with the growth rate more than doubled.

Household products are still popular retail products in the international market

In August, the National Retail Federation NRF announced a list of 25 popular retailers of the year. Home furnishing products have become the most popular retail products in the United States. Overstock, Wayfair and At Home and other 8 multi-category retailers operating home furnishings are on the list.

Among them, the two home retail e-commerce sales of Overstock and Wayfair have the fastest growth, increasing by 74% and 56% respectively.

In addition, e-commerce giant Amazon' s sales in the United States increased by 33.7%. The epidemic has made consumers pay more attention to the home environment and accelerated the transformation of consumption habits. In the future, e-commerce retail still has a large room for improvement.
