Tubatu app accounts for 36.4% of users, ranking first.

Recently, TalkingData, a well-known domestic data service provider, released a report analyzing the development of mobile Internet in 2020, saying that online real estate services represented by Internet decoration have also emerged.


The report data shows that among the home improvement apps in 2020, the proportion of users who choose to install the Tubatu app is 36.4%, with Haohaozhu and Kujiale ranking second and third.

Data shows that the scale of internet home improvement users has grown rapidly. In addition to the two main positions of first-line and new first-line, the proportion of internet home improvement users in second- and third-tier cities is also growing rapidly, which has become a new incremental space.


As evidenced by the city distribution data of internet home improvement users presented in the report, the distribution of users in first-tier cities accounted for 15.8%, while new first-tier cities and second-tier cities accounted for a higher proportion of 25.7% and 21.7% respectively.


The demand and consumption level of Internet home improvement in second- and third-tier cities are gradually moving closer to first-tier cities; internet users in first-tier and new first-tier cities pay significantly more attention to decoration than average internet users, and the internet-connected home improvement population has a higher coverage rate. The five cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou are all first-tier and new first-tier cities, which means that first-tier and new first-tier cities are still the main positions for the development of the Internet home improvement market.

Among the mobile internet users surveyed, 39.3% of users indicated that there will be renovation needs within two years. In the future users with decoration needs, more than half of the users expressed their willingness to choose Internet decoration products or services, and they have high expectations for Internet decoration services.


Data shows that when internet home improvement people choose decoration services, they mainly choose online App recommendations or recommendations from relatives and friends. These two channels have a high tendency to choose. Among them, users who choose online App platforms to recommend decoration companies are almost always half of the crowd surveyed.


The report also made a comprehensive analysis of the user portraits of internet home improvement. From the perspective of gender, male users accounted for 18.8% higher than female users. It can be seen that male users are more interested in all aspects of decoration when decorating at home.

From the perspective of the attention and use index of mobile application preferences of the internet home improvement crowd, the attention and use index of express logistics, automobile services, travel services, and smart hardware are relatively high.


High-frequency online shopping makes the internet home improvement crowd more sensitive to product promotion and evaluation. About 1/3 of the home improvement crowd are highly sensitive to sales promotion. Promotions can allow users to enjoy better services at lower prices, indicating that the internet home improvement crowd users are pursuing more cost-effective products; more than one-third of users are extremely sensitive to evaluation, which means that users pay more attention to product reputation. In the era of internet decentralization, reputation has become one of the key elements of consumer decision-making considerations.

The report data also shows that when internet home improvement people use internet decoration services, the first factor they consider is whether the quality of the materials used in the decoration is guaranteed. This option accounts for up to 74.6%; designers'  business level/service quality, after-sales protection, construction workers' business level, environmental protection compliance, quality inspection services and so on also account for more than 60% of the proportions, which are more concerns for the home improvement crowd when decorating.


In addition, the report pointed out that the development of the internet home improvement industry requires the deep integration of "internet" and "home improvement" to build a complete ecosystem; at the same time, deepen the refurbishment of second-hand houses, sink the market, and empower all links in the industry through new technologies , to meet the needs of users at more levels is the future development direction of the internet home improvement industry.
