On February 18, the Man Wah Shanxi Home Intelligent Manufacturing Base project officially started.

Man Wah Holding Group was established in 1992 and is the world's largest functional sofa company by shipments. The total investment of the Man Wah Shanxi Home Intelligent Manufacturing Base project is 4 billion yuan and will be completed in September 2022.

It is reported that the total industrial land of the project is 1,100 acres, and a smart home production line integrating R&D, manufacturing, sales and service will be built. The products involve high-end home furnishings and supporting extended industries such as multifunctional sofas, smart massage chairs, mattresses, and panel furniture.

It is estimated that the annual output value will be about 2 billion yuan after it is completed and put into operation, and about 5000 new jobs will be created.

Man Wah believes that the Shanxi base project will meet the fast-growing Chinese market demand and fill Man Wah Holdings' layout in Northwest China and local demand for sofa parts production. In addition, the new production base can provide products for export to the Middle East and other regions along the Belt and Road to reduce land transportation costs.

The current strategy of Man Wah is to accelerate the expansion of China's retail network through third-tier or inland cities. Some analysts believe that it is a wise choice for Man Wah to establish a production base in Shaanxi.

Up to now, in China, Man Wah Holdings owns five production bases of more than 1.8 million square meters in Huizhou, Guangdong, Daya Bay, Wujiang, Jiangsu, Wuqing, Tianjin, and Jiangjin, Chongqing. It also has industrial parks in Binh Duong, Vietnam, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, etc, forming the layout of 12 global production bases.

According to Man Wah's 2020 fiscal year report, the total production capacity of Man Wah in the past fiscal year was 1.968 million sets. After the Northwest base is put into operation in the future, the six major domestic industrial bases of Man Wah will reach a scale of 30,000 people and an annual output value of 20 billion.
