China remains the locomotive with the most dynamic development of the world economy.

On January 17, China's National Bureau of Statistics released economic performance data for 2019:

According to preliminary calculations, the gross domestic product of the whole year was 99.865 trillion yuan, calculated at comparable prices, an increase of 6.1% over the previous year, and in line with the expected target of 6% to 6.5%.

In 2019, China's per capita GDP was 70,892 yuan, which reached 10,276 US dollars at the average annual exchange rate, breaking the US $ 10,000 mark and achieving a new leap.

According to World Bank data, the population size of countries with per capita GDP of more than US $ 10,000 in 2018 was nearly 1.5 billion. With China's total population of 1.4 billion entering the ranks of countries with a per capita GDP of more than 10,000 US dollars, the global population in this rank will be close to 3 billion people. Of the approximately 7 billion people worldwide, the per capita GDP of 3 billion people has reached more than US $ 10,000 due to China's accession.

The proportion of China's GDP in the world in 2019 is expected to exceed 16%, and the contribution rate of China's economic growth to world economic growth is expected to reach about 30%. China is still the most powerful locomotive for world economic development. China's per capita GDP ranks among the middle-income countries in the world, and its human development index status has further increased.
