On November 19th, the Caofeidian Area and Timber Industry Promotion Conference of China (Hebei) Free Trade Zone was held in Caofeidian District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province.

The theme of the conference is "the free trade zone brings great opportunities，innovation leads the high-quality development", aiming to further expand the influence of Caofeidian timber industry, enlarge the timber trade, complete the industrial chain, strengthen the timber industry, and promote the Caofeidian timber industry. High-quality development, speeding up the construction of the largest port-based timber processing and distribution base and home industry base in northern China. The conference signed a total of 46 projects with a total investment of 15.381 billion yuan and a trade volume of 13.455 billion yuan.

It is estimated that by 2025, the imported wood will reach 5 million cubic meters, and the processing of logs will be 3 million cubic meters. The annual production of material pellet fuel will be 600,000 tons, wood-based panels will be 1.2 million cubic meters, furniture will be 3 million pieces, floor will be 1 million square meters, and wooden doors will be 4 million meters. Alas, the total investment reached 27 billion yuan, achieving an output value of 54 billion yuan, driving more than 50,000 jobs.

As an important part of Caofeidian's commodity trading, the timber industry has gathered more than 100 enterprises in just a few years. The annual main business income exceeds 5 billion yuan, and it has been approved as the first batch of “national forestry industry demonstration parks”.

The industrial cluster framework in the park has taken initial shape, and 16 industrial cluster projects have been put in, with a total investment of 18 billion yuan. Initially formed an industrial cluster framework from the import of logs to quarantine, primary processing, deep processing, and comprehensive utilization of wood waste.

The Tangshan City and Caofeidian District Governments supported the policy and issued opinions on supporting the development of the timber industry. The timber trade processing enterprises were subsidized from four aspects: import timber, quarantine and quarantine, processing plant and project construction.
