General Administration of Customs, P.R. China: Furniture Export in the First Ten Months of 2019 Totaled Nearly RMB298.6 Billion

The General Administration of Customs recently announced that, according to customs statistics, the export amount of furniture and its parts in October was RMB30.2 billion, and from January to October, the cumulative export amount was RMB298.66 billion, up by 6.2% year on year and the growth rate fell by 0.6% from the previous month.

 

In the first 10 months of 2019, the cumulative export amount of furniture, lamps and lanterns, lighting devices and parts, ceramic products and textile products was RMB1.3 trillion. Except for textiles and ceramic products, the cumulative export growth rate of furniture and lighting products decreased.

 

Generally, from January to October 2019, the total value of China's import and export of foreign trade reached RMB25.63 trillion, up by 2.4% year on year. Of this total, the export amount was RMB13.99 trillion, up by 4.9%; the import amount was RMB11.64 trillion, down by 0.4%; and the trade surplus was RMB2.35 trillion, an increase of 42.3%.

 

In October, China's total import and export value was RMB2.71 trillion, down by 0.5%. Of this total, the export amount was RMB1.51 trillion, up by 2.1%; the import amount was RMB1.2 trillion, down by 3.5%; and the trade surplus was RMB301.28 billion, an increase of 33%.

 

The imports and exports for main markets like EU and ASEAN increased, and those for countries along "the Belt and Road" grew faster than the overall market.

During the same period, China's imports and exports to countries along ''the Belt and Road'' totaled RMB7.47 trillion, an increase of 9.4%, 7% higher than the overall national growth rate, accounting for 29.1% of China's total foreign trade, an increase of 1.9%.

 

The imports and exports of private enterprises have increased rapidly and their proportion has increased. In the first 10 months, the import and export of private enterprises reached RMB10.87 trillion, an increase of 10.3%, accounting for 42.4% of China's total foreign trade value, an increase of 3% year on year, so private enterprises become the largest foreign trade body in China.

 

Exports of labor-intensive products continued to grow. The total export value of labor-intensive products such as clothing, textile, furniture, footwear, plastic products, luggage and toys reached RMB2.71 trillion, an increase of 6.1%, accounting for 19.4% of the total export value.
