Value of Furniture Exports from January to May 2019 Reached RMB 148.33 Billion, An Increase of 9.6%

According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, P.R. China, the gross value of China's import and export trade in goods reached RMB 12.1 trillion in the first 5 months, an increase of 4.1% compared with the same period last year. Among them, the export value was RMB 6.5 trillion, increased by 6.1%, while the import value was RMB 5.6 trillion, increased by 1.8%.
Among them, the value of furniture exports from January to May 2019 reached RMB 148.33 billion, an increase of 9.6%. The total export value of labor-intensive products such as clothing, textile, furniture, footwear, plastic products, luggage and toys reached RMB 1.21 trillion, an increase of 7.2%, accounting for 18.6% of the gross export value.
According to the data released by the General Administration of Customs, P.R. China, China's foreign trade in the first 5 months mainly presents the following features:
the demand for imports and exports for main markets like EU, ASEAN and Japan increased, and that for countries along "The Belt and Road Initiative" grew faster than the overall market.
The imports and exports of private enterprises rose rapidly, whose role of major driving force in foreign trade has become more evident.
