Nandaku exhibited more than 300 antique furniture

 

On the 19th, the Forbidden City Furniture Museum was officially opened to the public. This is another major exhibition hall opened by the Forbidden City Furniture Museum following the ceramics hall, painting and calligraphy hall and other special museums. The first phase of the open furniture hall is located in the Nandaku area in the southwest corner of the Forbidden City. The “Nandaku Qing Dynasty Palace Furniture Exhibition” exhibits more than 300 pieces of Qing Dynasty furniture.

 

According to the exhibition plan, the furniture hall is divided into three exhibition halls. In the first phase of the opening of the Nanda Library area, in addition to warehouse-style display of more than 300 pieces of Qing Dynasty furniture, there are more than 30 pieces of fine furniture, mainly in the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong period furniture, according to the courtyard, study, piano The theme of the room and other scenes, combined with multimedia technology and lighting, form a different cultural space for the audience to appreciate.

 

According to the director of the Palace Museum, Shan Yuxiang, there are more than 6,200 pieces of Ming and Qing furniture in the Forbidden City, the number is the highest in the world. These precious furniture relics have been hidden in the deep library. After three years of construction, today's Nandaku Library has become a modern professional cultural relics exhibition hall and warehouse.

 

According to the exhibition plan, the furniture hall is divided into three exhibition halls. The first and second phases are located in the Nandaku area, and the third phase is located in the Nanxundian area. More than 2,000 pieces of Ming and Qing furniture will be assembled, which is both a warehouse and a pavilion. The second phase of the furniture hall will be all warehouse-style display, and the third phase will mainly show Ming Dynasty furniture. In the future, it may be possible to show more furniture treasures to the audience in a rotating form.

 

 

The maternal and child room makes the visit to the Forbidden City better

 

In order to provide a clean, comfortable and safe breastfeeding, nursing and rest place for the audience with infants and toddlers, the Palace Museum opened the maternal and child care room for the first time, and strived to provide more comprehensive and caring service to the audience.

 

The Maternal and Infant Care Room of the Forbidden City is open to the audience free of charge. Female staff will be on hand to help when the audience is needed.
