The world-renowned annual China International Furniture Expo (FURNITURE CHINA) will be held from 8th -11th September 2016 in Shanghai as it continues its 22 years of innovation and development. The fair announced its dedicated new theme presentation along with more furniture manufacturers in larger exhibiting scale placing at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre (SWEECC), and even spreading across the city, Shanghai.

In 2016, the organizers are striving to expand the scope of home furnishing accessories and design works to create a completely new modern exhibition by launching “Maison Shanghai” at SWEECC for over 80,000 square meters, which to be held concurrently with Furniture China at SNIEC. Outdoor exhibition area expanding by 35% compared to 2015 reaches an unprecedented height. On the other hand, a total of nearly 3,500 exhibitors participate in Furniture China as well as Maison Shanghai and Shanghai Home Design Week. The exhibitor numbers in total achieve an increase of 17% over last year. 

Furniture China keeps quality as the core competitiveness. There are 236 excellent international brands from 26 countries and regions to be expected for the 2016 edition. Moreover, a Children Furniture Pavilion will be introduced in particular to meet the market demand.

This year, FURNITURE CHINA has undergone a number of adjustments to its layout adapting to market needs and changes. FURNITURE MANUFACTURING & SUPPLY CHINA (FMC China) will be moved to E6, E7 indoors and E10-E12 outdoors so that furniture materials are all together for one-stop procurement. FURNITURE CHINA has long been committed to high quality exhibits and this year LIVING PLUS at E4 is to showcase the collection of high-end style living rooms to explore various creative possibilities. HOME FURNISHING HALL has also expanded to N2, N5 and E7, together with MAISON SHANGHAI to provide a fantastic event for buyers and visitors from more than 160 countries and regions.

MAISON SHANGHAI, for the first edition to be held at SWEECC, attracts over 300 exhibitors participating in 2016, bringing exhibition products ranging from furniture, ceramics, lighting, carpets, kitchenware, fabrics, home textiles to bathroom & suite objects. The event highlights will cover Innovation Area，Home Plus Modern Version, Modern Chinese Style, Designers’ Night, Gold Idea Furniture Design Awards, China Furniture Product Innovation Awards, The Handicraft Year of China, Pop-up Store, The Sofa of China, That’s Mine Design Exhibition, China Home Design Conference…etc.

Experienced 5-year-development, SHANGHAI HOME DESIGN WEEK taking place annually in Shanghai enhances the industry and creativity in the city. This year, the distribution giant Red Star Macalline confirmed to launch its autumn collection at Pudong Hunan, Jinqiao and Pujiang franchises during the period of “Shanghai Home Design Week” from 8 to 14 September to offer more purchase options. With the cooperation with Red Star Macalline, the scale of design week doubled to thousand design stores compared to 572 of last year.
