Over 3,000 of the world's top household furniture manufacturers will be brought together, with conferences on high-specification industries and design. Moreover, Shanghai Home Design Week offers both exhibitors and visitors a week-long feast of design, placing Shanghai at the global center for furniture purchase.
In 2016, the organizers are striving to expand the scope of accessories and design works to create a completely new modern exhibition experience by launching "MAISON SHANGHAI" at SWEECC to be held concurrently with FURNITURE CHINA.
This year, FURNITURE CHINA has undergone a number of adjustments to its layout adapting to market needs and changes. FURNITURE MANUFACTURING & SUPPLY CHINA (FMC China) will be moved to E6, E7 indoors and E10-E12 outdoors so that furniture materials are all together for one-stop procurement. FURNITURE CHINA has long been committed to high quality exhibits and this year LIVING PLUS at E4 is to showcase the collection of high-end style living rooms to explore various creative possibilities. HOME FURNISHING HALL has also expanded to N2, N5 and E7, together with MAISON SHANGHAI to provide a fantastic event for buyers and visitors from more than 160 countries and regions.
MAISON SHANGHAI: Stunning Debut at SWEECC in September
MAISON SHANGHAI will be open from September 8-11, 2016 at SWEECC for its first edition. The organizers are continuing to put together a comprehensive showcase of home decor trends, showing off the latest developments in home decoration globally, predicting fashion trends and design changes in home decor and attempting to create a world-class event.
You'll be able to find cutting-edge design and top technology for automobile and home decor from Aston Martin, a concept room by IF Design Award winner Sean Zhang, a fashion celebrity preferred place for shooting from R.G.F, table art by Mao Creations, plus a variety of different styles of home solutions by top designers.
The four-year-old "Designers' Night" which has been hailed as an "unmissable design feast" by designers will be held at SWEECC. Leading names from fields including architecture, interior design, graphic design and the art -- Chairman of the German Red Dot Award Mr. Prof. Peter Zec, judges from the Gold Idea Furniture Design Awards, the top ten designers from C FOUNDATION, plus a cast of 300 designers and 50 media partners will all be communicating the blend of design essence, attitudes to taste and aesthetics.
The organizers will be launching a carefully curated show containing new and classic Chinese designs called "Modern Chinese Style," to show the Chinese concepts of wisdom and relaxation, the main aim of which is to increase understanding and awareness as the main features of people's attitudes towards life and lifestyle. You'll be able to see Red Star Macalline's collaboration with ten designers, the grand exhibition -- "Tradition in Evolution" from ten brands at the 2016 Milan Design Week, winners of the "Gold Idea Furniture Design Awards," as well as those who have built on their inherited Chinese traditional culture, using an innovative spirit to interpret modern lifestyle designs.
Echoing this marvelous show will be the event "A Talk with Modern Chinese Style Pioneers," given by Editorial director of Elle Decoration Leon Sun, the famous floral master Alfie Ling, founder and chief furniture designer at U+ Shen Baohong and well-known artist Zheng Zaidong. Those four artists and masters will share with audience the impact of Eastern design aesthetics on modern life, culture and society.
Maison Shanghai's - Home Plus - will focus on future trends in home decor. Eleven of the biggest names in design: Xu Ming, Gary Zeng, Kot Ge, Cathy Wang, Ricky Wong, Meng Ye, Ben Wu, Alex Sun, Aibin Shaw, Kris Lin and Isabel zhu will display colorful or restrained future home trends across ten spaces, allowing you to walk through the cutting edge of lifestyle decor.
MAISON SHANGHAI has three halls: Hall 1 "Fashion", Hall 2 "Living", "Cosy", "Innovation", Hall 4 "Modern Chinese Style" and "Home Plus Modern Version."
The venue of MAISON SHANGHAI, SWEECC can be reached by Yaohua Road Station on metro Line 7 or the China Art Museum Station on Line 8. FURNITURE CHINA badge permits a free entry to MAISON SHANGHAI. During the event period there will be free shuttle buses link two exhibitions venues, SNIEC for FURNITURE CHINA and SWEEC for MAISON SHANGHAI. Splendid Home Furnishing Hall
The organizers have revealed that this year's Home Furnishing Hall will contain many big highlights and industry-leading domestic brands include: Laifei, Weland, UMA, Creative Co-Op Home, GlobalViews, Mocrystal, Hong Casa, Home Value, Letto, sunflower, Art Depot, WWTorre, Sunsister and others. Compared with previous years, there are more diverse household brands. This year Lighting is situated in E7 with Wangkai +Glass, Tikanna, Sung Nox, Comely and other famous brands attending.
Additional Children's Furniture Booths to Meet Market Demand
The Chinese market for children's furniture is recently increasing due to the introduction of two-child policy. To meet the unprecedented market needs, this year's FURNITURE CHINA will open a new children's furniture pavilion, located at Hall W11 next to the #2 Entrance Hall of SNIEC to showcase high quality children's furniture. Exhibitors include major domestic and foreign children's furniture brands such as PAIDI, Sampo Kingdom, PAPAHUG and CIMEN's flagship X·M·B, etc.
"The Sofa of China" Third Season: Searching for Top Chinese Materials
The campaign for the third "the Sofa of China, the Fabric of China", began in May 2016 in conjunction again with the Jiangsu Furniture Brand Alliance and East China software related companies and design agencies, as well as the "Chinese Fabric City" of Yuhang, the "Chinese Textile Town" Dama in Tongxiang and Jiaxing Fabrics to create an upstream/downstream linkage platform for the furniture industry.
This year, Sofa of China will focus on the sofa industry's soft furnishings as the key development sector, with a series of selection events to create competition which can stimulate cohesion and innovation throughout the whole industry chain, as well as promote Chinese sofas to the rest of the world. After the winning "Sofa of China" is selected, it will be displayed in E8B-D20 booths. At the same time, the "the Sofa of China" will be held for all those participating to let them showcase their design concepts, view the Yuhang Brand Fabric City and discover fabrics to work with.
"THAT'S MINE" Design Exhibition
FURNITURE CHINA has always highly respected design works, and offered a platform for professional young designers to present their piece of works. Design of Designers (DOD) is already in its fifth year and 2015's "THAT'S MINE" Design Exhibition spread quickly throughout Shanghai becoming a beacon and launching more new brand publishing platforms.
The Expo's organizers will continue to promote a variety of events and forums on "THAT'S MINE" during September 8-11, 2016adding fresh design vitality to the show. Enthusiasts of home design will be able to see work from famous brands such as Fnji, Ziinlife, MZGF, EY-Products and Beladesign which will be showcased at the Hall E8A and E8B. Plus, there'll be the chance to come face to face with young designers such as Frank Chou, Li Peixin, Ren Hongfei, and Mario Tsai, etc. On top of this, DOD is also the market platform-of-choice for independent designers.
