Half of Ikea’s commodity to be from China by 2020

23% of the Ikea’s global total commodity purchasing amount comes from China, and they plan to double the share in the next six years, which means that half of the commodity sold by Ikea globally will be from China by 2020.

 

Peter Wisbeck, the Trade Manager of Ikea Greater China Region, said in Shanghai recently, "23% of the Ikea’s global total commodity purchasing amount comes from China, and they plan to double the share in the next six years, which means that half of the commodity sold by Ikea globally will be from China by 2020. "

 

Planning to open three stores in China each year and satisfying the needs of launching e-commerce in China in the first half of 2016, Ikea will recruit more than 2000 employees in China each year.

 

Peter Wisbeck adds, “Ikea settled almost all functional departments in China, including retail, design, merchandising, logistics, and other functions.”

 

Entering its 15th year in China, Ikea has already have more than 7000 employees in China, but still needs to recruit more than 2000 employees in China each year.

 

Hongbo Huo, the General Manager of Logistics of Ikea Asia Pacific Region, introduced earlier, “Ikea will launch e-commerce in China and increase investment in logistics, hardware, and software. In the future, the investment in the field of logistics in China will be up to billions of euros.”
